What the Annual RSM Golf Classic Means to Us
Today is the first day of the 10th Annual RSM Golf Classic. The RSM Classic is a partnership between the Davis Love Foundation, PGA TOUR, and title sponsor, RSM. Over the first nine years, the RSM Classic has raised more than $13 million to support charities focused on children and families in need.
For the past several years, the Development Authority has leveraged the Annual RSM Golf Classic as an opportunity to showcase the Golden Isles to site-selection influencers across the country. Each year our team works to improve the experience of our guests and highlight new opportunities in our community. This year is no different.
To celebrate the 10th anniversary, the Development Authority partnered with Georgia Power, The Golden Isles CVB, and Jekyll Island Authority. These partnerships are essential in delivering a complete experience in our region. Out-of-town guests will have the advantage of building relationships with various organizations that can speak on their experience working in, or for, the Golden Isles. These relationships will include members of the local businesses that are invited to join us throughout the RSM.
Our weekend itinerary has added a visit to Historic Brunswick. It also provides time for our guests to explore the region on their own and discover their favorite things about the Golden Isles. To help gusts build a day in the Golden Isles, the Development Authority inspired them from local professionals who took the time to share their unique perspectives on what makes the Golden Isles great.
Participating in events like the RSM takes a lot of work and planning, but are an essential component of achieving our mission to promote economic prosperity for Brunswick and Glynn County by assisting retention and expansion of existing industries and securing new diversified industries to locate here and creating job opportunities and capital investments.
The RSM event is a great way to build and strengthen business relationships, but there’s much more to the weekend. Our team’s hope is for our guests to experience the place that we call home, and that many businesses have chosen to grow in.
