Downtown Brunswick is a historical ‘Main Street’ area and is considered by many of the locals to be the “heart of the community.”  The future is bright for Downtown Brunswick and new development is just around the corner… the Brunswick Urban Redevelopment Agency is seeking proposals from developers for redevelopment of the Oglethorpe Block.

Brunswick, Georgia sits on the Atlantic Coast about an hour south of Savannah, GA and an hour north of Jacksonville, FL.  In addition to Downtown Brunswick, the area is home to the Golden Isles of Georgia, which includes Jekyll Island, St Simons Island, Sea Island, and Little St Simons Island.  Downtown Brunswick is has several beautiful historical buildings and nearby waterfront area known as Mary Ross Park.

Mathew Hill, from Brunswick’s Downtown Development Authority stated ” The project site is at the gateway to Historic Downtown Brunswick. The project is a catalyst for the continued redevelopment of Historic Downtown Brunswick and the surrounding Historic District.”
