Jennifer Fordham CEcD, Georgia Department of Community Affairs wins the 2017 Dave T. Smith Award for her outstanding service to Economic Development in Glynn County, GA.  Paulo Albuquerque (left) and Mel Baxter (right).

Jennifer Fordham, from the Georgia Department of Community Affairs was recognized for her outstanding performance and impact on Economic Development in Glynn County, Georgia.

Over the past several years, Jennifer has worked several major projects that have all been hugely beneficial to Brunswick and Glynn County’s economic growth.  Several of these projects, Jennifer worked directly with Dave Smith to make them happen.

Projects that Fordham worked on include:

  • Entrance to the Gateways Industrial Park, 2017: $450,000
  • North apron expansion project at the Brunswick-Golden Isles Airport $500,000
  • Fire suppression system at the Brunswick-Golden Isles Airport $500,000
  • Land acquisition for the Phil Overton Junction connector track project $500,000
  • Storm drainage for the connector track project $500,000

About the Dave T. Smith Award

The Dave T. Smith Award is given every year to any person or entity that helps the organization further economic growth in Glynn County.  The honor was created to celebrate Dave Smith’s selfless service and dedication to economic development and growth for Brunswick and Glynn County that he had shown during his 15 years with the Brunswick – Glynn County Development Authority.
