Industry Appreciation Week 2018
Every year, Brunswick and Glynn County’s existing industries make huge contributions to the economic growth and development of our community.
Manufacturing has long been a part of the local culture, and throughout the week we’re recognizing their contributions during our local “Industry Appreciation Week.”
Here’s just a few of the things that are going on during our local Industry Appreciation Week…
Manufacturing Appreciation Luncheon
Friday, May 4. Noon to 1:30pm at Epworth by the Sea | Click to Register or Call 912.265.0620
We’ve partnered with the Brunswick-Golden Isles Chamber of Commerce to bring the community together to show our appreciation for our existing industries and their valuable contributions. As a local industry leader, the Manufacturing Appreciation Luncheon is all about you, so don’t miss out!
Our Top Priority: Skilled Workforce
Tuesday, May 1. 4:00 – 5:00pm at CPTC Board Room, 3700 Glynco Pkwy, Brunswick, GA 31525
Coastal Pines Technical College (CPTC) is working on a manufacturing dual enrollment training program for high school students at the Golden Isles College and Career Academy (GICCA). This effort is the direct result of industry leaders taking an active role in our education system to ensure our workforce has the skills required by modern manufacturing.
All across the nation, as the Baby Boomer generation retires, businesses and industries are faced with the challenge of replacing a huge amount of technical skill, often times all at once. In Glynn County, we’re fortunate to have a strong working relationship between our business and industry leaders and our technical education schools. The result is that when our existing industries have a need in terms of skills, our technical schools can respond quickly and get them what they need.
Proclamations of Support for Manufacturing
Both the City and the County issued “Proclamations of Support for Manufacturing” for 2018. The Proclamations officially recognize the value of Brunswick & Glynn County’s industrial community and reconfirms our commitment to supporting manufacturing and improving our business climate.
