Georgia’s low tax rates and impressive variety of both statutory and negotiated incentives encourage new growth and assist eligible businesses to attain their goals. We will work with your company to help you determine your eligibility and to locate the most beneficial incentive packages.

Brunswick and the Golden Isles offers an attractive and competitive incentive package to new and expanding industries, including revenue bond financing and low interest loans through the Coastal Area District Development Authority. In addition, we offer 100% freeport and ad valorem tax exemption on raw materials, goods in progress, and finished goods bound for out-of-state shipment.

Research & Development Tax Credit Businesses engaged in available categories Up to 10% of additional R&D expense over base amount. Unused credits may be carried forward 10 yrs. and may be added to other tax credits.
Job Tax Credits Business or its Headquarters engaged in manufacturing, processing, telecommunications, warehouse distribution, tourism or research & development $1,250 per job tax credit in Glynn County. 25 new jobs must be created to qualify.
Investment Tax Incentives Existing manufacturing or telecommunications businesses operating in Georgia 3 prior years, investing $50,000+ Credits range from 8%-1% of qualified capital investment. Port Investment Bonus available to taxpayers with large increases of shipments in/out of GA port.
Quality Jobs Tax Credit Companies that create at least 50 jobs and pay wages at least 110% of the county average Tax credit of $2,500-$5,000 per job per year for up to 5 years. Credits are based on a scale of payroll requirements ranging from 110% to 200+% of county average wage.
Retraining Tax Credit All business categories Credit of 1/2 of employers’ retraining cost up to $500 per employee on training for new equipment, technology or operating system.
Employment Incentive Program (EIP)

Only available in unincorporated Glynn County
Administered by the Georgia Department of Community Affairs, this program provides specified grant and/or low interest loans for eligible projects. Primarily used for infrastructure improvement expenses (access roads, utility lines, etc.). Grant funds require designation of a municipality as the recipient.
Share the Future Fund (Local Incentive) New manufacturing or distribution businesses locating in Glynn County and creating a minimum of 15 jobs Discretionary funds that may be used to assist with payment of local site development permit fees or other expenses as approved by the Brunswick & Glynn County Development Authority.
Local Revolving Loan Fund New or existing Glynn County Businesses creating jobs for low-moderate income individuals Funds may be used to purchase machinery /equipment or real estate. Up to $20,000 for each new job created may be awarded, with an award maximum of $100,000 are per eligible project.
